Huh????

Okay... Watching Oprah (I know)... However I just learned that Jenny McCarthy, the woman who has made parents afraid of childhood vaccinations, gets Botox injections. Am I the only one who thinks that is craaaazzzy?

More food for thought:

I'm pretty sure I am the only person in Portland who thinks Al Gore is a big, fat, hypocrite, but does anyone else out there think it is absurd that he still flies around in a private jet and has one hurking huge house that most of the people he buys carbon credits from can never even imagine cleaning let alone living in?

On a similar topic I find it hysterical that we get JUNK mail from the Sierra Club... I guess protecting animals and protecting trees are very different things.

Last but not least on my "unpopularist" tirade, why is congress trying to figure out who to blame for dishing out the bailout money that went to bonuses???? They should have listened when we, their constituency, didn't want to do it in the first place. Who's to blame? All of them!

As a side note, foot note, whatever, these questions are all rhetorical and don't call for an answer, unless you agree with me. Because I find that like most other people with a cause, I'm really just in it for the ego boost.

The Knee Bones Connected to the Leg Bone

We ran out of Pj's the other night so we stuffed Lars in a hand me down set that someone had bought their kid for halloween. We thought it was so darn cute that we left him in them the whole next day. Lars and I walked up to the VA Hospital for lunch with Tor and had a great time flirting with all the Vets. (Lars did the flirting...)

P.S. If you ever want to have a first hand history lesson go find a Veteran. They have so much to tell, are more than willing to talk your ear off, and really deserve to have all of us listen.

Pink Cows and White Weddings

March has been eventful around the Sandven/Sandven household. I LOVE weddings. Especially now that the dreaded bouquet toss no longer applies to me. I remember feigning total aloofness at past weddings while simultaneously dreading the single girl walk to the dance floor and hoping that the stupid prediction might be true, and I might catch the bouquet. So... we just recently attended our first wedding with Lars. Tor's friend Young got married in Boston over the weekend and it was quite fun. Lars insisted on talking the whole ceremony so I spent most of the time in the hall, but I imagine it was a nice.

On a completely separate but equally interesting note Lars got a cow for Easter from my parents. I picked it out and accidentally bought a pink one. I decided that I would be modern and keep the pink cow (mostly because I am lazy and didn't want to return it for the black & white one) however after Lars played on it for a day and chewed on its ears, my old fashion sense of male/female won out and I returned it for the other one. I am sure there are many out there who think that I am silly for worrying about the color of my 7 month old's rubber cow, but rest assured I don't care about your opinion... only mine :)

Here are some delightful pictures of both the wedding and the cow:

This was just too cute not to put in here. Note pirate duck in the corner

Lars seems to like pink

or not....

Sage (the bride) was gorgeous
